From Antigua

Well, here I am in Antigua, Guatemala. What a change from Guatemala City. Catie´s paperwork is all done, and we could fly home anytime, but we are thinking we will probably leave on Tuesday the 19th. Last night we stayed in a bed and breakfast owned by an american(Mark) from Los Angles, CA. I asked him how he ended up in Guatemala, and he said he started visiting in 1999, and that visit lasted until a couple of years ago. Then he and his wife (who is a Guatemalan he met in LA) decided to stay. We plan to stay there again tonight and then move into the city to the Hotel Antigua. Kimberly and Danny had actually planned to stay in the city (where Mark also has a bed and breakfast), but it was full.

Most of the streets here a cobblestone, and narrow. Everything is behind high block walls with gates and doors. That makes is difficult to see any of the houses etc., and seems strange to me. There are many ruins from earthquakes, and age. It is actually a very active place because a lot of tourist come to Antigua. The streets are busy with cars, and I keep wondering how they all get around so well, with few traffic lights. This quite an interesting town, and I´m just beginning to see it. The problem is I have to walk everywhere, and tire so quickly with the MS. That is why I´m blogging now from an internet cafe. I needed a break before hitting anymore shops. More later!
